Democrats have become demanding over the past few days that President Trump get tested for the novel coronavirus and release the test results.
The demands come after some people who have been recently confirmed as having the disease were in contact with the president at the White House and Mar-a-Lago.
The president and his doctors have maintained that he kept a safe social distance from everyone at these events and testing him is unnecessary, but finally relented and tested him today.
The White House physician released a statement Saturday afternoon giving the president a clean bill of health and a negative test for COVID-19.
Via The Hill:
“Last night after an in-depth discussion with the President regarding COVID-19 testing, he elected to proceed,” Trump’s doctor, Sean Conley, wrote in a letter released Saturday night by the White House. “This evening I received confirmation that the test is negative.”
“One week after having dinner with the Brazilian delegation in Mar-a-Lago, the President remains symptom-free,” Conley continued.
“I have been in daily contact with the CDC and White House Coronavirus Task Force, and we are encouraging the implementation of all their best practices for exposure reduction and transmission mitigation.”
Trump announced at a Saturday morning press conference that he took a coronavirus test Friday evening after being in proximity to several people who have tested positive for the disease and interacting with multiple others have self-quarantined as a precautionary measure.
The negative test result follows multiple days of mixed signals from Trump and the White House about whether he should or would get tested.”
This is good news and should be celebrated by all Americans. Let’s show President Trump he is in our hearts and our prayers to keep leading this nation through this!
