Last week, waves were made in Congress when House Intelligence Committee Chair Adam Schiff (D-CA) was asked by his colleagues to step down as chairman.
The GOP colleagues called for him to resign due to his comments alleging collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia during the 2016 election, despite him having no evidence of such a thing.
“Your actions both past and present are incompatible with your duty as chairman of this committee. We have no faith in your ability to discharge your duties in a matter consistent with your Constitutional responsibility and urge your immediate resignation as Chairman of this committee.”
Schiff did not take kindly to this call for his resignation and has been attacking the GOP the rest of the week.
Former Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) stopped by Fox News on Sunday morning to give his take on the ridiculous partisan display by Schiff and what he thinks the embattled Chairman’s next steps should be.
“Adam Schiff is a deeply partisan person. He did everything he could to make sure that Hillary Clinton became the next president and he’s done everything he could since he failed at that to keep a cloud over the Trump presidency.”
White House counselor to the president Kellyanne Conway also gave her take on the entire situation. Things are not looking good for Schiff.
“By the way, Adam Schiff is completely compromised. You want to find the person who is compromised? He’s the head of the House Intelligence Committee, and spent more time on TV than at that committee over the last however many years.”
Schiff has doubled down on his position despite all he has to lose. Gowdy sent him a chilling warning.
“I think the next thing that’s going to happen is the different intelligence communities … are going to say ‘you know what, Chairman Schiff, if you don’t believe the information we provide you, if you prejudge the outcome of the investigation; if you have the president of the United States, not just indicted, but in jail, and you continue to leak like a screen door on a submarine, we are going to quit giving you information.”
Schiff better stop spouting off with things that are patently untrue or he may just lose his position in that committee.
