Liberals everywhere celebrated when they heard that the eight border wall prototypes in Otay Mesa, San Diego were going to be torn down.
But they celebrated too early. The prototypes are actually being torn down to make way for the construction of the real wall that is currently going on.
This part of the border wall project is included in the $131 million federal funding that was allocated for new “bollard-style, steel secondary barrier” which will go in to replace the current insufficient fencing.
There is currently 14 miles of primary 18 foot tall fencing that is the direct barrier between the U.S. and Tijuana, Mexico. The secondary fencing, will be 30 feet tall.
“It is also going to be outfitted with some smart technology, some fiber optic capability which gives us the opportunity to attach sensors to it – detection sensors.”
There have reportedly been 25,000 border crossing apprehensions since October 1st so the border patrol is anxious to get this project completed and help keep the people of America safe.
