After a surprise flight home on Air Force One, First Lady Melania Trump joined President Trump in the White House where they participated in the annual Santa tracking event with the North American Aerospace Defense Command.
NORAD tracks Santa every year since a phone number mis-print that had children all over the world calling and asking where Santa was.
“It was a Sears administration printed a phone number that was meant to be calling Santa directly and it ended up calling our operations director at the time. He took a call from the child, thought it was a prank and kind of figured out what was going on. Quickly after that, and ‘NORAD Tracks Santa’ continues that tradition today.”
The tradition has been going on for decades and this will be the second year President Trump and Melania are participating in it much to the delight of children calling in.
“Generally, he starts around the international dateline, goes to New Zealand, Australia, Asia pacific, Europe and finally into North America, where we will escort him with NORAD fighter jets in Canada and the United States. We’re locked right onto him with our radars in the systems we use every day to defend North America.”

At one point a boy called in and talked to Trump about believing in Santa. Trump assured him that he should just do what makes him happy. “Well, you just enjoy yourself.”
“Happy Christmas, and you just take care of yourself and say hello to your family,” Trump told another child caller. “Say hello to everybody.”
Seated right next to President Trump, Melania asked another child, “Are you tracking Santa? Do you know where he is?… I hope your dreams come true.”
It’s such a special Christmas treat that the President and First Lady carry on this beautiful tradition. They always take time to do these little acts of kindness for the American people.
SHARE this all over and help wish President Trump and Melania a Merry Christmas!
